Invest in Estonia: "MyotonPRO" monitors astronaut’s training in space November 15, 2018

Invest in Estonia wrote an in-depth article about “the first Estonian-made hardware on the ISS” – the “MyotonPRO” Digital Palpation Device and its way towards success.

For the space qualification, the smartphone-sized device went through a careful analysis and safety inspection. Its design and components were examined for compatibility with safety regulations of ESA and NASA.

The device will be staying on the ISS for several years and will be used for testing of twelve astronauts and ten muscles throughout the mission of each subject.

Even though “MyotonPRO” is helping better understand muscle adaptation in space, it is not designed only for astronauts. Existing scientific literature clearly shows the need in various clinical and sports applications.
